报告摘要:

越来越多的在线实时网络应用系统被迁移到数据中心中,利用大规模的计算和存储资源供各种网络服务。但数据中心也面临着高并发流量、传输延时增加、网络负载不均衡的问题。本次报告首先介绍数据中心网络面临问题和相应解决策略。然后介绍我们的相关研究成果,主要包括:从分组长度、并发流数和微突发控制来避免高并发TCP流的Incast问题、基于HTTP流传输特性的拥塞控制算法、延时敏感的传输控制协议和基于编码的包散射负载均衡算法。

报告人简介:

王建新,中南大学信息科学与工程学院副院长、教授、博士生导师,医疗大数据应用技术国家工程实验室副主任,国务院学位委员会第七届学科评议组(计算机科学与技术)成员、国务院政府特殊津贴获得者、ACM Sigbio China主席、中国计算机学会生物信息学专业组副主任委员。国家973计划前期研究专项项目信息处理算法及物理实现首席科学家。从事生物信息学、计算机优化算法、网络优化理论等相关的研究工作。近5年来,主持国家自然科学基金重点项目、国家973等科研课题10余项,获授权发明专利15项,在TCTONTCOMTCBBJCSSAlgorithmicaINFOCOM等刊物和国际会议上发表论文200多篇,出版专著3部,获得省部级科技奖励4项。


Topic: Some issues and optimization strategies in Data Center Networks

abstract:

Nowadays, more and more real-time online applications are migrated into data centers in order to utilize massive computation and storage resources. However, date centers are also facing several problems such as high concurrency, high transmission delay and unbalancing of network traffic load. At first, the issues and their corresponding solutions in data center networks will be addressed in this report. Then, we will introduce the outcomes of our research group, which include avoiding TCP incast problem by controlling the packet length and numbers of concurrent flows as well as microburst, congestion control algorithm based on the speciality of HTTP stream, transmission control protocol of delay-sensitive flows and load balance algorithm of packet spray based on coding.

profile of the Lecturer:

Jianxin Wang received the BEng and MEng degrees in computer engineering from Central South University, China, in 1992 and 1996, respectively, and the PhD degree in computer science from Central South University, China, in 2001. He is the chair of and a professor in Department of Computer Science, Central South University, Changsha, Hunan, P.R. China. His current research interests include algorithm analysis and optimization, parameterized algorithm, Bioinformatics and computer network. He is a senior member of the IEEE.
